Barossa Improved Grazing Group (BIGG) is pleased to welcome Joshua Lambert to the BIGG community as our 2025/2026 Intern. Joshua is a first-year Agricultural Science student at the University of Adelaide with strong ties to the Barossa Valley. After completing his schooling locally, Joshua undertook a Heavy Diesel Mechanic apprenticeship, gaining hands-on, practical skills before deciding to broaden his horizons and pursue a career in agriculture.
Through the BIGG Internship Program, Joshua is eager to extend his skill set, explore new opportunities, and immerse himself in the grazing and farming practices that make the region unique. His internship will focus on supporting BIGG’s communications and extension projects, helping to share practical insights and outcomes from drought preparedness and resilience initiatives with local producers.
Joshua is particularly looking forward to building professional connections, gaining hands-on experience across a range of projects, and deepening his understanding of resilient farming systems. He hopes the internship will help shape his future career direction while allowing him to contribute meaningfully to the Barossa’s agricultural sector.
The BIGG Internship Program is proudly funded by the SA Drought Hub, supporting the development of future agricultural professionals while strengthening regional capacity to prepare for and respond to drought.
