BIGG is seeking applications from Agricultural and Animal Science students for the 2025/6 BIGG Internship Program.
This internship provides an exciting opportunity to build networks and gain skills and experience in agricultural research, extension, and communications.
About the Internship
The successful applicant will receive ongoing mentoring and hands-on experience through participation in the following areas:
- BIGG communications and project delivery
- Assist with the planning and delivery of the 2026 BIGG Annual Conference (to be held 19 February 2026).
- Contribute to the delivery of BIGG projects, including producer workshops, trial and demonstration sites, board meetings, and communications activities.
- Special interest placement
- Undertake work experience with BIGG partners—such as producers, agribusinesses, service providers, government agencies, and industry organisations—tailored to the intern’s specific interests and career goals.
The BIGG Intern will:
- Commit to 250 hours (equivalent to approximately three days per week over ten weeks) between Monday, 24 November 2025 and Friday, 27 February 2026. Exact timing will be mutually agreed upon to accommodate study, holidays, and BIGG requirements.
- Receive a stipend (financial reimbursement for work undertaken).
- Work remotely (from home), with access to a site office if preferred, and be able to travel to the Barossa region as required.
- Provide a final report to BIGG outlining key experiences, learnings, and reflections.
