Pilates For Rural Living

Pilates web banner

The Core Strength: Pilates for rural living program is an initiative of Barossa Improved Grazing Group (BIGG) to help improve wellbeing amongst our rural communities especially when facing the challenges caused by drought. Accessible and beneficial to all ages and most fitness levels pilates can enhance both body and mind health.

Why Pilates?

Through improving strength, balance and flexibility pilates enhances body movement and can have a positive impact on our daily lifestyle - whether that be a physical job, chores around home, or fun on the sporting field!

Physical exercise is proven to reduce stress and pilates has the added mental health benefit of cultivating mindfulness through focused breathwork and intentional movements. Furthermore, pilates offers an opportunity to take time out from daily pressures and connect with others in our rural communities.

What is Pilates?

Pilates is a low-impact exercise that aims to strengthen muscles while improving postural alignment and flexibility. Pilates generally involves slow, refined, and deliberate movements that incorporates considered breathing. Guided by trained instructors in small group or one-on-one sessions the exercises are either mat (floor) based and/ or incorporate specialised equipment.

Core Strength: Pilates for Rural Living at Barossa Pilates

BIGG is pleased to partner with Barossa Pilates to offer the Core Strength: Pilates for Rural Living program.  Our inaugural program will run as a series of 55 minute pilates mat classes for five weeks at 5pm Mondays starting 15 July. Cost is $114 for the program (to attend the five classes).

Participants are also welcome to join other classes that may be more suitable for their specific needs and/or availability.

*LIMITED INTRODUCTORY OFFER*
BIGG and Barossa Pilates have a limited number of subsidised induction sessions available for only $50 - normally $150!
Prior to commencing any pilates class all new clients are required to attend a personal one on one induction session. This session allows your individual health needs, including possible injuries and surgeries to be considered. A simple fitness screening is also conducted to determine how you move and your personal strengths and weaknesses. In line with Barossa Pilates' duty of care, a suitable class will be suggested to meet your needs after the induction.

To book an induction session or enquiry about the Core Strength: Pilates for Rural Living classes please email info@pilatesbarossa.com.au
